Spring Swing
This year we decided to have a ‘Spring Swing,’ an informal afternoon of music to showcase the talent and potential in KPS!
We were delighted to welcome family and friends to our event. The school choir performed two pieces, Don’t be Anything Less and When I Grow Up from Matilda.
P4 have be learning about pirates so the showcased a sea shanty. P5/6 have read Under the Hawthorn Tree and sang the Leaving of Liverpool. P7 recited a poem about Easter.
Then some of our instrumentalists performed a range of pieces. Our string duet played Hallelujah and The Red Haired Man. Our woodwind and brass performed Orange Mexico, we had a beautiful flute solo and piano performance.
With it being Lifelong Learning week, we had a special guest, Mr Ian Hannah, who shared how music has opened many doors throughout his career. He encouraged us all to always give things a go and if we are serious about music, we need to practice! Then he played Oh Danny Boy.
Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the afternoon!
