P1-3 boys and girls had a very special visitor last week. Mrs Hannah Collins came in to talk to the children about the Queen's Coronation celebrations in 1952. The children found out that not only has Mrs Collins celebrated the Queen's Coronation but she has celebrated her Majesty's Silver, Golden and Diamond Jubilees! Mrs Collins had lots of interesting photographs and stories to tell us and brought in lots of memorabilia. She showed us what a half crown looked like and the children soon discovered that it wouldn't be worth much in today's money! Mrs Collins then showed us china cups which she has collected for each Jubilee! A big thank you to Mrs Collins for sharing all her wonderful memories with us. This has definitely put us in the mood for our own Platinum Jubilee celebrations in school!
