As we look forward to next Friday's book themed fancy dress P 5 & 6 have begun their activities with some book recommendations. A number of children brought along their favourite books to share with the class and we look forward to seeing more next week.
We were also visited by past pupil William Steele, who works as a graphic designer for Usbourne Publishing Company. William explained all the stages a book goes through, from it's arrival as a Word document to the finished article on the shelf, a process which can take up to two years. He explained how the publishers work with authors and illustrators and the amount of research that goes into cover designs, artwork and advertising campaigns. Hopefully we now have some inspiration to help us with our competition entries next week!
