A fishy tale
7th Feb 2024
Today we had a visit from Steven who told us all about the lifecycle of salmon and how they breed and survive in the River Bann. Even more excitingly, he left us some eggs to look after. They are in a tank, in a fridge in our classroom and we have to monitor them for the next six weeks as they hatch out. He will then take them to the Salmon Fishery at Bushmills which we hope to visit later in the year. This is all part of a special project, funded by The Honourable The Irish Society to preserve and maintain the health of this section of the river.
