Tommy shared his wealth of knowledge about our local village to the children. He explained the London connection and of how The Mercer family were the first settlers in our area. The stories which he shared were fascinating and we as a class found out lots of interesting facts about our locality. He spoke about James the 1st and of how there were 12 companies founded by him throughout Northern Ireland. Children are now very aware of the local history and can begin writing reports about the history of Kilrea.
